The Year in Cross Stitch - 2011

"The calendar, The Year in Cross Stitch 2011, has been designed by Lisbeth Roum-Møller, who for almost a lifetime has been connected with The Association Haandarbejdets Fremme in various ways.

Since her childhood, Lisbeth Roum-Møller, has had a strong interest in needlework and especially embroidery. This interest led to an early education in a shop belonging to Haandarbejdets Fremme, followed by three years of embroidery education and two years of fashion design studies at the Teacher's Training School. Now a teacher herself, she would then work at the school for 31 years. Royal commisions and designing various church textiles have also been a part of Lisbeth Roum-Møller's work. Lisbeth Roum-Møller took the series of decorations at the Copenhagen Town Hall as a source of inspiration for the calendar, transformming them into embroidery motifs for each of the months. Except from the designs for the twelwe months of the year, this year's calendar also presents twelwe photos of models with the calendar motifs, as well as a series of suggestions for using the embroideries for other kinds of stitches than cross stitch."

The calender is printed in three languages: English, German and Danish.
